Now- on to the project... Today I am using the NEW Celebrate Friendship and Botanical Burst stamp sets to create a unique card, mixing the fun cutesy image with the more elegant floral background. To learn how I created this card, continue reading.

I started my project with a piece of heavyweight white cardstock cut to 3 1/2 by 4 3/4 inches, and I masked a portion of the cardstock to keep that section bare white and free from stamping. While my card panel was still masked, I loaded it into my stamp positioner and aligned the medium sized cluster of florals from the NEW Botanical Burst stamp set. I tried to position it in the center of the panel to stamp this imaged with sage green ink. Leaving the masking in place, I also used my Nuvo Blender Brush to add some more sage green ink. Coloring the cluster of flowers with a haze of green.

Once the masking paper was removed and the ink had a few moments to dry, I then took the "blessed" word die from Tonic Studios from the Will's Hand collection and cut it directly from my background panel, making sure to keep all of the pieces both positive and negative.

I also cut that same word die from some white craft foam. This will help to pop up my sentiment. You could also cut it from cardstock multiple times and layer them together to build some dimension.

I applied a piece of white copy paper to the back of my card panel... The same panel that I have just cut holes in. This piece of copy paper is attached to the back of the area where I cut out the word die using Nuvo Tape Runner adhesive and a good amount of it. Using plenty allows for the area to remain sticky and helps us arrange our camouflage puzzle.

I first attach the white craft foam in its place. I used a small amount of Nuvo Deluxe Liquid adhesive where there were areas that did not appear to have tape runner adhesive in place. I used it's flexibility to wrap the text to match where it was cut from. I then added all of the negative pieces to the areas where they came from flat to the card panel using the same liquid adhesive. Last but not least, I used liquid glue to adhere the cardstock portion to fill in the camouflage effect and make it appear as though it's popping out of the background.

I then used tear tape adhesive and gray craft foam to pop up the entire card panel on to its card base. I used a gray card base cut to size A2 in a side folding or landscape orientation.

To add some cuteness to this project, I stamped the little pig, the bee and a little flower from the Celebrate Friendship stamp set in a light gray hybrid ink onto bright white watercolor paper. I used my watercolor pencils to color my images along with a blender pen to draw out the color. I also added a little bow tie to the pig. I felt like he needed to dress up a little for the occasion.

Once these images where completely dry I used some non serrated scissors to cut them out. Be careful, that squiggly tail can be a real pain. Once they were all cut out, I popped them up using Craft Perfect foam squares.

For the sentiment, I stamped the "you make the world a nicer Place" sentiment from the NEW Sentiments stamp set also from Tonic Studios using Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Ink onto a dark green cardstock that I felt coordinated, as well as dressed it up a little bit. I used white embossing powder to heat emboss the words. It was cut down using a wire guide paper trimmer into a strip and attached it to the card using those same Craft Perfect Adhesive Foam Squares.

I hope that you enjoyed my blog post today, and hope that I've inspired you to create something cute with these fun products that Tonic Studios has created for us with this release. I have listed the rest of the blog hop below, continue on and don't forget to comment to win a $25 gift card to Tonic Stuidos.

Thank you for visiting my blog today,

Koren

  54. I’m loving your card, using both the floral and critters set is a really good idea. I love the Blessed cut out and the way it stands proud of the background but parts are white and other bits are stamped. Think I’ll be using this idea myself in future cards. Thank you for sharing some really good techniques to create a beautiful card. Cheers Nessa xx
