The One Where I Moved My Blog

Hello. I have recently designed and launched my own website. This is a huge thing for me to do on my own and I'd love for you to check it out. Find me at korenwiskman.com

The One with the My Favorite Things May 2021 Release Projects

Hello everyone.  Today is release day for My Favorite Things. I have a new video making a dreamy bee card using the NEW We Beelong stamp set and coordinating dies. I also used the NEW Hexagon Pops die-namics to create the background. Scroll down on this post to see another project using the NEW Let's Work Together and Right at Home sentiment set.

To check out the entire May release from MFT (CLICK HERE!) to visit the the website and check out all the NEW stuff and the inspirational projects from the design team.

Here is a Kolour Map which lists the markers I used on a particular project. This way you can save them and reference them later. A full list of products used on these projects can be found

For this project I stamped the tree house images from the Let's Work Together stamp set with MFT's Extreme Black ink onto alcohol marker friendly paper and colored them with my alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

The background is ink blended onto heavy weight white cardstock using dye inks. The card panel measures 3 1/2 by 4 3/4 inches.

The sentiment is from the NEW Right at Home sentiment set onto MFT Black Licorice cardstock with watermark sticky ink and heat embossed it using detail white embossing powder. I cut it into a strip using my paper trimmer.

The images were popped up onto the ink blended panel using foam tape. The card panel itself was popped up using craft foam and tear tape adhesive.

The entire card panel was placed onto an A2 sized top folding card base made from gray card stock.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, I hope I've inspired you to create something. Remember to check out the entire release (CLICK HERE!) to visit MFTStamps.com

The One with the Gina K Designs April 2021 Card Projects

Hello everyone. Today I have a few card projects using some of the products from the NEW April 2021 release from Gina K Designs. I have a video doing some very simple stamping and a few cards that I stamped by hand, just playing around. In the video I used the Go To Greetings stamp set as well as the Count it All Joy stamp set to create a simple one layer card.

To check out the entire NEW release from Gina K Designs (CLICK HERE!) and visit her website where you can shop the NEW release and read the blog to find tons of inspiration using these products and much more.

Continue scrolling down for more card projects.

I also have this three card set using the same sentiment stamp set Go To Greetings. I love the font used in this set and spent several hours with just me and my acrylic block stamping away. I loved the results so much that I made them into cards.

This first card uses a diagonal design that is much easier to pull of perfectly using the MISTI, I was just playing and eyeballed the entire thing.

I was using a gray pigment ink for the majority of the stamping, then used Ranger Archival ink for the one "hello" to stand out among the rest. I added a simple pre printed sentiment from my stash by popping it up with some foam adhesive.

The entire panel was popped up with black craft foam and added to a medium gray card base cut to size A2 and scored in a top folding portrait orientation.

For the next card I stamped the first "hello" from the Go To Greetings stamp set and then proceeded to stamp off with the subsequent stampings aligned with the original to give an ombre effect. I also added another pre-printed "congrats" sentiment with foam adhesive.

For the next card, I stamped the "hello" vertically on a piece of heavy weight white card stock and then added the "you are the coolest" horizontally in Gina K designs Whisper ink. I then added one of the solid leaf images from the "Count it All Joy" stamp set.

I finished this one off with a frame die cut from black card stock and adhered with liquid adhesive. Popped it up with some craft foam and stuck it on a Fog card base, this time in an A2 side folding landscape orientation.

Last, but not least I have a fun card mixing the new stamps sets with the older Crafty Notes stamp set also by Gina K Designs. For this card I stamped the epicurean board from the Count it All Joy set onto alcohol marker friendly paper with alcohol marker friendly ink by Gina K and colored it with my alcohol markers. I also stamped the watercolor palette and Washi tape images from the same set and colored those as well. I just used my scissors to fussy cut them out.

I then stamped the "hello" sentiment from the Go To Greetings set with Gina K watermark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I stamped it onto watercolor paper so that I could make a piece of art to tape to my board. I watercolored it using water based markers and a water brush. I used that same marker and water brush to splatter on the same color onto a piece of plain white cardstock cut to 3 1/2 by 4 3/4 for the background.

This is absolutely what I use my epicurean board for. I have two of them. It works great to handle my watercoloring in progress. I know many of my crafty friends will understand and relate.

Once all of my images were colored, I popped up the board and the palette and adhered everything else using tape runner adhesive.

The sentiment is another pre-printed sentiment that was there and ready for me to use. To finish it off I added a few clear water droplets from my stash.

I hope I've inspired you to create something today. To see more from Gina K Designs (CLICK HERE!) to visit her website.

The One with the Spellbinders Love Block Stamp Set Card Project

Hello everyone. Today I have a card using the Love Block stamp set from Spellbinders.

To check out more from Spellbinders and to find more inspiration from other designers using this set (CLICK HERE!) and visit their website where you can shop and search the blog.

I cut the largest stamp in the set apart (don't worry it will always fit back together nicely) to be able to stamp the word love in a vertical line down the center of my card.

I cut a piece of white heavy weight cardstock to 3 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. I then cut strips of a select color palette of cardstock to 3/4 inch strips and adhered them to the card panel with tape runner adhesive.

Once I had my card panel nicely adhered, I loaded it into my MISTI. I placed the "LOVE" letters from the Love Block stamp set into a vertical line in the center of my card panel. I stamped it with watermark ink and used fine detail white embossing powder to heat emboss it.

Because I used tape runner adhesive to stick down my paper strips, the heat from the heat tool started to lift the strips from the panel. Next time, I will be sure to use a stronger adhesive. To save the panel, I attached it to a piece of grey board to help give it some strength. Then I saturated the edges with the same sticky ink and embossed a white edge all around my card panel to give it a more rustic look. It wasn't the clean lines I was originally going for, but I really like how it turned out.

I added the panel to a white card base cut to 7 by 8 1/2 inches and scored at 3 1/2 inches.

I hope I've inspired you to create something today. To check out more by Spellbinders (CLICK HERE!)

The One with the Spellbinders Lilly of the Valley Card Project

Hello everyone. Today I have a project using the Spellbinders Lilly of the Valley die set by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. I was inspired to create this card based on one of my favorite video games, Animal Crossing New Horizons. In this game when you reach the level of five stars you are given a special Lily of the Valley flower as a trophy of sorts, hence the sentiment "you will always be five stars to me".

To check out more from Susan and the Spellbinders team (CLICK HERE!) and visit the website to shop and to find inspiration.

This card is simple but the dies can be a little tedious to handle due to their size. Once you cut out all of the pieces in the Lilly of the Valley die set, you shape them with a round ball tool. I used my scoring tool that has a small and medium ball on the two ends. I followed Susan's video that you can watch (CLICK HERE!) to assembly the flowers. Once they were assembled I adhered them onto my background panel using liquid glue.

For the background I used an old embossing folder by Stampin' Up! to emboss the triangular trees that mimics the look of the designs of the animal crossing game art.

The sentiment was created in Photoshop and printed out. Once I printed it out, I trimmed it down using my paper trimmer and popped it up using foam adhesive to give it dimension.

I can't wait to send this card to one of my crafty friends that I play Animal Crossing online with. In fact, I may make several and send them to all of my gaming buddies.

I hope that I've inspired you to create something today. To check out more from Spellbinders (CLICK HERE!).

As for this card, I used the NEW Dad's cooking stamp set. I watercolored it with some Daniel Smith Watercolors and adorned it with a few sentiment strips. "Now you're cooking!" is from the same Dad's Cooking stamp set from the Three C's release.

I added a piece of patterned paper in a wonky fashion, mostly because I stamped my image on an odd size piece of paper. No worries, I think it looks cool in spite of my error. Keep scrolling for an added list of supplies for this card.

The One with the Chocolate Bunny Shaker Card

Hello everyone. Today I have two more cards to share with you using the NEW Gina K Designs February Release. I used the NEW Some Bunny stamp set to create these two cards. I will link the products used on these cards below.

To check out the entire release from Gina K (CLICK HERE!)

To create this shaker card I started with a piece of heavy weight white cardstock cut to 3 1/2 by 4 3/4. I used the side profile bunny silhouette from the NEW Some Bunny stamp set from Gina K Designs' February Release. I grabbed the die from the coordinating die set and aligned it on the top part of the panel as if it were to be in a portrait orientation, leaving plenty of room below to stamp my sentiment.

I wanted to stamp my sentiment on this panel before moving forward with creating the shaker card. I always have a bad habit of waiting to to the sentiment last, which makes for awkward stamping on a completed shaker panel. I stamped the "happy easter" sentiment with Gina K Amalgam ink in Obsidian and heat embossed it using Simon Says Stamp clear embossing powder.

I grabbed another piece of the same heavy weight white cardstock cut to the same size as before. I placed the die-cut panel above it, just to make a few pencil marks in order to ink blend some brown on the panel below where it will show through the top panel of the shaker card.

On the background panel I ink-blended some Chocolate Brown ink also by Gina K Designs. I concentrated it into the area that would show through the top panel. Once that was looking good I added a bit of Nuvo Vintage Drops in Saddle Brown which in my opinion makes perfect caramel. I drizzled it just like a chocolate candy.

Once that was completely dry, I added a piece of acetate to seal my shaker window shut. I also added two layers of foam tape to pop up my top panel leaving plenty of room for my shaker bits.

For shaker bits, I used Wilton sugar crystals from the cake decorating isle. I wanted it to look like a salted caramel chocolate candy. I think it looks pretty yummy myself.

The entire panel was added to an A2 size Simon Says Stamp Fog card base scored in a top folding portrait orientation.

For the second card today, I am using the same materials only this card is not a shaker card. I used the back/front profile bunny from the same Some Bunny stamp set. I cut it using the same heavy weight cardstock. This time I wanted to make a Peep inspired bunny. I ink blended a little color using Gina K's Lovely Lavender ink and covered it with White glitter paste for my sugar.
Once it was dry I popped it up on my card panel using foam tape.

I hope I've inspired you to create something today.
