Your Next Stamp Anything But A Card Video

Hello fellow card makers.

Today I am sharing a project that isn't a card. GASP! I do like to make things that aren't cards, I just haven't featured many of them on my blog and YouTube channel just yet. We were challenged to create anything but a card, so I made a treat box. To see what the other Your Next Stamp Design Team members came up with, (CLICK HERE!) to visit the Your Next Stamp Blog. Comment on the Your Next Stamp Blog for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice.

This is not my idea. I stole this from Sam at Pootles.co.uk. She is an absolute genius when it comes to creating gift boxes and bags. I have watched her for years and I love putting my own spin on her creations. So, I've taken her box... (CLICK HERE!) to visit her blog post or watch her video on this box, and added some of my own touches. I did cut my paper wrap slightly larger to fit my design a little better, but it is the same general principle and dimensions of her box.

So, you start with a piece of cardstock cut to 5.5 x 8". You score along the long side of the cardstock at both 1.75 and 6.75. Then you turn your paper and score the short side of the cardstock at 1.25, 2.5, 3.75, and 5". After scoring, burnish your score lines with a bone folder. Cut out the unnecessary pieces and trim the edges that fold into the box. For greater detail, please see my video or visit Pootles.co.uk. (CLICK HERE!) to see her version, she is much better at explaining things than I am. Add adhesive where needed and fold in your sides. Its very simple.

Once your box is built. You are ready to create the patterned paper wrap. You simply wrap a piece of patterned paper around your box and it will slide on and off.  I cut my piece slightly larger than hers so that I could add some pumpkins to my sentiment. My piece measures 5.75x 4. I added tape runner adhesive to keep it wrapped.

As for the matted sentiment. I used a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock. I ink-blended a bit of Distress Oxide ink in Vintage photo along the bottom of the piece. I stamped "Treats for You" in Versafine Onyx Black ink, justified to the right, to leave room for my pumpkins.

I stamped my pumpkins from the Your Next Stamp Fab-Boo-lous Halloween stamp set in Your Next Stamp Black Olive ink. I colored them with my Copic Markers. (See Copic Color Map below) I adhered the larger pumpkin with tape runner adhesive flat to the matted watercolor piece and I popped up the smaller pumpkin with 3M foam tape.

For photos of my project, a link to my YouTube video, a Copic Color Map, and a list of supplies I used to create is project look below.

Your Next Stamp Challenge #73 Card Video

Hello fellow card makers.

Today I am sharing the card I made for Your Next Stamp Challenge #73. This is a biweekly challenge on the Your Next Stamp Blog that is both a sketch and/or color combo challenge. I hope you can play along with us in this week's challenge (CLICK HERE!). Here is a look at both the sketch and the color combo for this weeks challenge.

I fancy myself a clean and simple card maker or some type of hybrid of that style, so typically I'm not as inspired by the sketch as I am the color combinations. The color combinations usually push me outside of my comfort zone and force me to experience new designs. I was really inspired by the photo next to the colors. I thought about using some wood grain and some scripty word die, but ultimately I used the colors to create a group of dressed up candy corn.

I took a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock to ink-blend a little bit of a background for my images to be grounded to. I used Distress ink Black Soot and Hickory smoke. The color peeks out from behind my images at the top and the bottom. I trimmed the background down to leave a half inch strip of patterned paper exposed at the bottom of my A2 sized card. The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny's Head Over Heels 6x6 paper pack. The watercolor piece is popped up with a piece of craft foam adhered behind it with tape runner adhesive.

My images were stamped with Your Next Stamp Black Olive ink and grouped on a piece of Neenah 80lb cardstock. The images are from Your Next Stamp Fab-Boo-lous Halloween stamp set. I do not have the coordinating dies for this set but they are available in the Your Next Stamp online store.  I cut them out using my Brother Scan N Cut. I colored them with Copic Markers. I personally like the one I "dressed" as an M&M : ) I popped up my cluster image with 3M foam tape and adhered it directly to the background panel.

The speech bubble sentiments , also from the Fab-Boo-lous Halloween stamp set, were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and also cut out with my Brother Scan N Cut. I stamped them several times as to insure a dark solid black image. Then sentiment at the bottom right corner is no exception. It was also stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. Using the MISTI to do the stamping allows you to stamp images multiple times in the exact same spot.

I want to thank you for visiting my blog today. To see photos of my project, a link to my YouTube video creating this card, a Copic color map, and links to the supplies used to make this card, look below.

Your Next Stamp DT Dare "Get Inky"

Hello fellow card makers.

Today I am sharing with you a card I made for the newest Design Team Dare by Your Next Stamp. We were asked to "Get Inky" and, as any paper-crafter should know, nobody has to ask us to get inky but since they did, lol, I DID! I broke out some Distress inks and used them to watercolor a background on my project today. To see everything the Your Next Stamp Design Team has created for this event (CLICK HERE!) to visit the Your Next Stamp Blog.

I used the new Hobby Chicks stamp set and coordinating dies, as well as the new Ripped Rectangles die set on my project.

I started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock. I used a wet on wet technique to add colors of Distress ink to my project. For a full list of supplies, look below. I stamped the sentiment right in the center (sort of) using Scrapbook.com's white pigment ink. I then heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp's Detail White embossing powder.  I cut out my front panel using the large rectangle from MFT's blueprints 1 dienamics. I then cut out the sentiment portion of my panel using the middle die from the new ripped rectangles die set. I popped up both the entire front panel and the center portion with black craft foam.

I then stamped my images using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear heat embossed it with Stampin' Up!'s clear embossing powder. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color my images. I cut them out using their coordinating dies and popped them up with Scotch 3M foam tape.

I finished off my project adding various colors of Nuvo Jewel drops all over the front panel of the card. The card base is made from Simon Says Stamp's Fog cardstock.

Photos of my project, a Distress ink color map, a link to my YouTube video making this card, and a full list of supplies used to create it are below.

Your Next Stamp Sept. 17' New Release Blog Hop Card Video

Hello fellow card makers.

Today is New Release Day at Your Next Stamp! It's September, which means some awesome fall stamps are coming, and this release does not disappoint. My favorite of the release has got to be the new Insta Love Die Set. It cuts an instant photo from with pierced holes along the outside. I just love it.

I have two projects to share with you today. The first uses the new Hobby Chicks stamp set and coordinating dies. This is probably my second favorite of the release and I have a ton of ideas of how to use it. Today I made a bit of a thank you card for a coach. The photo I uses was from last year when my husband coached our youngest sons soccer team. I thought it made the perfect thank you card.

I started with a piece of Bristol smooth white cardstock. I used my ink blending tools and some Distress ink to blend the sky and grass background. When I completed the ink blending, I cut it out using the largest of the Stitched Rectangles Die Set by Your Next Stamp. The background was popped up with craft foam adhered to the back with 1/2 inch scor tape.

I cut out the large Insta love die from the new Insta love die set twice out of Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock. I adhered both layers together to create a bit of dimension. I wanted the photo to sit inset like an instant photo does. I adhered both the frame and the photo to a piece of copy paper to create one unit. This made it easier to adhere to my background with tape runner adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment with Scrapbook.com white pigment ink and white heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp detail white embossing powder. I then cut it out using the smallest die from the new Washi Tape Sentiment strips. I adhered the sentiment also with tape runner adhesive.

To finish off the card I embellished the bottom with a copic colored image from the Hobby Chicks stamp set. This little bird is kicking the soccer ball along the bottom of my card. Both the chick and the soccer ball are popped up with Scotch 3M foam tape. The lines that represent the motion of the soccer ball are Gelly Roll Black Glaze pen.

My second project for today uses the brand new Ooh La La stamp set and Ripped Rectangles Die set. We just came back for our family vacation at Walt Disney World were we saw large amounts of Macarons. So I was inspired to create these bright pink and green macarons.

I stamped my images in Versafine Onyx Black ink on Canson XL watercolor paper. I heat embossed the images with Stampin' Up! Clear embossing powder. I colored my images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

The background was cut with the largest of the Ripped Rectangles die set. It was also cut from Canson XL watercolor paper. I then masked of the background and did some ink blending using both Pumice stone distress ink and tumbled glass distress ink. I popped up the background with Scotch 3M foam tape.

The sentiment was also stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink and clear heat embossed. The images were popped up with foam tape and a little Spectrum Noir sparkle pen was used on the bow and icing.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today. Make sure you follow along the hop and leave comments to increase your chance to win a $25 gift certificate of your choice.

Your Next Stamp Sept 17' Preview Day Card Video

Hello fellow card makers.

Today I am sharing with you the card I made for this months Preview Day for Your Next Stamp. To see all the wonderful projects for today from the Design Team and our Guests, (CLICK HERE!) to visit the Your Next Stamp Blog showcasing previews of the Your Next Stamp September release.

Once the New Products go live (Click Here!) to visit the Your Next Stamp Online Store to see the entire release and to make a purchase.

Make sure you also check out the Your Next Stamp September New Release Saturday September 9th at 10:00 EST.

My card today features the new Peek A Boo stamp set and Insta Love Die set. I created a collection of photographs taken by the super fun characters in the Peek a Boo stamp set. I started by cutting out both sizes of Insta photo dies in the set. I cut the larger out three times and the smaller out six times. This will create one large photo with three layers and two small photos with three layers. I took the negative or middle piece that gets cut out where the photo would be and stamped my images with Your Next Stamp Black Olive ink, which is a Copic-friendly ink. Using some masking paper, I stamped them in a variety of ways to create some fun "selfie" type photos. Once they were all stamped I colored them with Copic markers.

Once my photos were completed, I used a liquid adhesive to adhere my layers together to create the instant camera photo frame around the images. I then adhered the photo frames to my Simon Says Stamp Fog card base with liquid adhesive. I had to pop up the larger photo frame so that it can appear stacked on top of the smaller photos. Please see the video, link provided below, for more explanation.

The sentiment was also stamped in Your Next Stamp Black Olive ink. To finish off the card, I used some Your Next Stamp Milk and Cookies Matte Gumdrops scattered on my project.

Photos of my project, a Copic color map of the markers I used to color my images, a link to my YouTube video creating this card, and links to the supplies used to make it are all listed below.

Your Next Stamp Challenge #72 Card Video

Hello fellow card makers.

Today I am sharing with you a card I made for Your Next Stamp's Challenge #72. Here is a look at the sketch and color combo for this weeks challenge. To play along with us, visit the Your Next Stamp Blog (CLICK HERE!)

I started with a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock. I brushed wet Gansi Tambi water color to a dry piece of paper. I used the color combo for the challenge as my inspiration behind the colors that I chose. Once it was dry, I used the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die set (second to largest) to cut out my front panel. I stamped my sub sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink. The front panel was adhered to a piece of black craft foam with 1/2 inch scor tape then adhered to a top folding A2 size card base cut from Taylored Expressions Poppy Seed cardstock.

I used the same cardstock as my card base to cut out my sentiment die cut. Thanks form Your Next Stamps Scripty word die set was cut and layered together four times. I used Stick it adhesive to help me do that. Please see the YouTube video for more explanation.
