The One with the My Favorite Things May 2021 Release Projects

Hello everyone.  Today is release day for My Favorite Things. I have a new video making a dreamy bee card using the NEW We Beelong stamp set and coordinating dies. I also used the NEW Hexagon Pops die-namics to create the background. Scroll down on this post to see another project using the NEW Let's Work Together and Right at Home sentiment set.

To check out the entire May release from MFT (CLICK HERE!) to visit the the website and check out all the NEW stuff and the inspirational projects from the design team.

Here is a Kolour Map which lists the markers I used on a particular project. This way you can save them and reference them later. A full list of products used on these projects can be found

For this project I stamped the tree house images from the Let's Work Together stamp set with MFT's Extreme Black ink onto alcohol marker friendly paper and colored them with my alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

The background is ink blended onto heavy weight white cardstock using dye inks. The card panel measures 3 1/2 by 4 3/4 inches.

The sentiment is from the NEW Right at Home sentiment set onto MFT Black Licorice cardstock with watermark sticky ink and heat embossed it using detail white embossing powder. I cut it into a strip using my paper trimmer.

The images were popped up onto the ink blended panel using foam tape. The card panel itself was popped up using craft foam and tear tape adhesive.

The entire card panel was placed onto an A2 sized top folding card base made from gray card stock.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, I hope I've inspired you to create something. Remember to check out the entire release (CLICK HERE!) to visit MFTStamps.com

The One with the Mice Day to Celebrate Card Project

Hello everyone. Today I have a fun card to share with you using the NEW Mice Day to Celebrate stamp set and coordinating dies. This set is from the NEW My Favorite Things February release. The supplies used to create this card will be linked below.

To check out the entire NEW MFT Stamps February Release (CLICK HERE!). At MFTStamps.com you can find the NEW release as well as classic staples that a card maker needs in their craft room.

Background:

I started with a piece of Ranger watercolor cardstock. I cut it down to 3 1/2 by 4 3/4. I used a piece of low tack masking tape to mask off the bottom portion of my panel while I ink blended a bit of light in the background. I used Distress Ink in Wild Honey. I then moved my masking tape to mask off the portion of the panel I just blended so that I could create a floor or a table, something for my critters to stand on. I used Distress Ink in both Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers to match the color scheme of the party that I was creating on my card. After I ink blended both the top and bottom portions of my card, I then splattered it with the same three Distress ink colors to create a fun confetti feel to my scene.

Focal images:

I stamped all of my images from the Mice Day to Celebrate stamp set using MFT Extreme Black ink onto Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker friendly paper. I used my alcohol markers to color my images. I have created a kolour map to show all of the markers I used on this piece. I cut out the images using their coordinating die set of the same name.

Sentiment:

I stamped the sentiment "it's a mice day to celebrate" in two sections. I first masked off the "to celebrate" and only inked the "it's a mice day" using Gina K watermark ink and stamped it onto MFT Blu Raspberry cardstock and heat embossed it using Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder. I did the same thing only this time I masked the first part of the sentiment "it's a mice day" and only stamped and embossed the "to celebrate" using the same process but I switched out the blue cardstock for MFT's Razzelberry. I cut them both into strips using my Fiskars paper trimmer.

Assembly:

The assembly of this card is simple. I used various depths of adhesive to add dimension to my scene. I adhered the crates flat to the background panel to leave room to pop up the more interesting stuff in the foreground. Most images were only popped up using one or two layers of foam tape.

The entire panel was then adhered to an A2 size top folding portrait style light gray card base. I used Gina K Designs tear tape adhesive to stick it to a piece of craft foam to pop it up as well.

I finished off the card by gluing super small pom-poms to their hats and adding a little shimmer to the candle flame using a Gelly Roll Stardust pen.

I hope I've inspired you to create something today. To check out more from the MFT February release (CLICK HERE!)

A Beauty and the Beast Card Featuring Sweet Stamp Shop with Video

Hello fellow card makers. Today I am sharing a card that I made with Sweet Stamp Shop products . I used stamps from both the Prince Charming stamp set and the Wear a Crown stamp set. Using these stamps I created a card that reminds me of the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. The main image on the card is reminiscent of the flower from the story. The background was created using similar images of an empty flower stem and some roses and falling petals. I recently saw a card made by one of MFT's design team members, Joy (Simple by Design), that created a custom background by white heat embossing images in this same way. I was inspired by her card to create this one. Below are photos of my project, a link to my YouTube Video, and a complete list of supplies.

The first card I created I used Glossy Accents all over the image to make it appear like glass. I didn't like how it turned out and re-colored the image, this time forgoing the use of the Glossy Accents. I'm not sure if it was a great move. I would be interested in hearing your opinions. Leave a comment below or on my YouTube Video letting me know which one you prefer, the with or without Glossy Accents.
