Today I am sharing with you a card I made, which was inspired by the alcohol ink card I did a while back. I love love love to dye Easter eggs. So when I was playing with my alcohol inks, I immediately thought of dying Easter eggs. I tried a few different color combinations but this one was my favorite. I liked it so much that I sent it to SCT Magazine for submission to their Spring 2018 edition. I didn't make the cut, but I decided to share the card with all of you.
I started with blending drops of Ranger Alcohol Ink in Cloudy Blue and Snow Cap mixative together on a piece of Ranger Yupo paper. Once that was dry, I added lines of Ranger Multi-medium Matte liquid adhesive. This is where I added Nuvo Gilding flakes to my project. I also gave this time to dry. After the piece was dry, I used a Frantic Stamper Egg dies to cut it down. I adhered it to a piece of Neenah 110 lb cardstock that had been ink blended using the MFT Radiating Rays stencil and Versamagic Aspen Mist ink. That panel was cut down using a Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle die (second from largest). I adhered both panels to white craft foam to add dimension.
To add the sentiment, I cut out several layers of the word JOY from Neenah 110, using Neat & Tangled's Journaling Alphas. I adhered them together using liquid adhesive and centered the word joy in my egg. That was it, pretty simple. Not a traditional Easter card. My husband thought it was odd associating Easter with JOY. I told him that next time I'll just put... YOLO, LOL, JK, BRB, - Jesus
Thank you for visiting my blog today,
Koren
