Your Next Stamp Challenge #87

Hello fellow card makers.

Today I am sharing my project for Your Next Stamp Challenge #87. Your Next Stamp has a biweekly sketch and/or color combination challenge over on the Your Next Stamp blog. To play along with us or to check out everyones inspiring cards (CLICKHERE!). Here is a look at this weeks sketch and color combinations.

For my card, I was more inspired by the sketch than the colors, this week, so I picked a different color combo but worked with the sketch to create my card. I saw a scrapbook layout by Cathy Zielske at CZ Design. To look at the scrapbook page over on her blog (CLICK HERE!)  It was so pretty, I wanted to use the combination on a card project.

I started with Neenah Desert Storm cardstock cut down using the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangles Die (second to largest). I mimicked the circles in the sketch using the Your Next Stamp Circles with stitching and piercing die set. I cut the circles using the same 6x6 paper pad that Cathy used on her scrapbook page. I love this paper pad, it's Lawn Fawn's Really Rainbow paper pad and it's filled with gorgeous rainbow patterned paper. I placed them in their perspective areas with foam tape and trimmed of the edges with my large scissors.

To add a little something special,  I inlaid a #6 from the Your Next Stamp Bold Numbers Die set. I used white craft foam to pop up the hidden die cuts. My beautiful Niece Ella is turning six this weekend and I had to create a card to commemorate the occasion.

I loved how Cathy used white letters along with the black text on her page. So, I cut the Happy Word die from Neenah 110 lb cardstock and fastened it with foam tape. The sub-sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink. I finished off the card by adding Nuvo Jewel drops in various coordinating colors scattered around the card front. I attached the card front to a Neenah 110 lb card base.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. Make sure you come check out the challenge over at the Your Next Stamp Blog, just (CLICK HERE!)
