Hello fellow card makers.
It's time for another biweekly challenge over at the Your Next Stamp Blog. (CLICK HERE) to visit the blog and have a look at all the inspiration that the design team and fellow challengers are uploading. Your Next Stamp hosts a biweekly sketch and/or color combination challenge where you can pick which most inspires you to create with Your Next Stamp supplies. Here is a look at this weeks sketch and color combo.
I was more inspired by the sketch this week so my card has a bit different color theme but maintains the look of the sketch. I used the Happy Smiley Alphabets and their coordinating dies to create my card. Along with some other fun supplies.
I started with a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base in A2 size portrait orientation. My front panel began as a piece of Lawn Fawn Raspberry cardstock. I cut it down using the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die (second from largest). I cut similar strips to mimic the sketch using My Favorite Things Word Window die set. It leaves behind the stitching detail that I really love.
To give you something to look at behind those windows. I added some Scotch 3M foam tape to the front panel at lined up some patterned paper for it to attach to. That way, you look through to some fun confetti celebration detail. I call this faux shaker : )
For the sentiment, I used the Your Next Stamp Smiley Happy Alphabet and coordinating dies to cut out the word Happy. I used YNS Black Olive Ink and colored them with various Copic Markers. I popped them up with foam tape as well to add dimension. I cut out the word birthday from some of the Patterned paper pack I used for the confetti. It's called Let's Party by Simple Stories. I used Scrapbook.com tape runner adhesive to adhere that under the happy.
I then stamped "to you" from the Your Next Stamp Cool Tag Banner Sentiments set masking off the rest of the sentiment before stamping it with Versamark ink and using Hero Arts Ultra Fine White embossing powder to heat emboss it. I stamped it on Lawn Fawn's Black Licorice cardstock and cut it down using my paper trimmer. To add just a touch of flare, I cut a diagonal banner tail at one end.
To further embellish the card a bit. I added some Nuvo Jewel drops in various colors on the word "Happy" and attached some Studio Katia Satin Rainbow Sequins with Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive. The entire panel was then attached to the card base with Scrapbook.com double sided adhesive. It is super strong, so I know it won't go anywhere.
