Hello fellow card makers.
Today is the beginning of a new challenge for Your Next Stamp. It's challenge #90 and it's a biweekly sketch and/or color combination challenge. Every two weeks, Your Next Stamp posts a sketch or color combination to inspire you to play along with the challenge. Create a project inspired by one of those two things and upload it to the Your Next Stamp blog. Here is a look at this week's sketch and color combo. (CLICK HERE!) to visit the Your Next Stamp blog and to play along with us.
For my project, I rotated the sketch one turn to the right and used the NEW Punny Pineapples stamp set and coordinating dies.
I started with a piece of patterned paper by Bo Bunny. I'm not sure this paper pad is still available. It's called Head Over Heels and it's made by Bo Bunny. If I can find it, I will link it below. It has a two- toned triangle pattern in black, and I absolutely love it. I used it to act as the purple strip in the sketch for the challenge. I cut that piece down with the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle die (second from largest). I also had a piece of Neenah 110 lb Solar White Cardstock and cut it down with the same die. I trimmed one inch from the left Side of the piece of Neenah to reveal the triangle pattern paper.
I took the "you're one Fine-apple" sentiment from the Punny Pineapples by Your Next Stamp and stamped it first with Versamark ink and only on the word fine. I masked the rest of the sentiment using Term-o-web's Purple Tape. After I stamped just the word fine, I used Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder to heat emboss it. After the heat embossing had cooled. I used Versafine Onyx Black Ink to stamp the rest of the sentiment, being sure to mask the word FINE with tape.
The pineapple image is from YNS Punny Pineapples and I stamped it onto another piece of Neenah 110 lb cardstock and heat embossed it using the same Hero Arts Gold embossing powder. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out.
As for the sunglasses. I used the die from the Punny Pineapples coordinating dies to cut it out. I cut it from Tonic Studios Black Sapphire Glitter Cardstock.
Before I did anything else. I used my Stampin' Up! score board to score 1/2 inch score lines on the white Neenah panel that I had cut down in the beginning. I made straight score lines every 1/2 inch across the front of the panel. I adhered this panel to a piece of black craft foam cut to slightly smaller that the entire panel. I used double sided tape to adhere these together and then to my card base which is a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base.
I popped up the pineapple slightly above the sentiment with Scotch 3M foam tape. I then adhered the glasses using the same foam tape.
Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you will consider playing along with us over at the Your Next Stamp Blog. (CLICK HERE!) to have a look and possibly be inspired by all of the awesome card makers either on the Design Team or the ones playing along in the challenge.

Your Next Stamp Feature Day Mash Up
Hello fellow card makers.
Today, I am sharing my project for Your Next Stamp. It's Feature Day over on the Your Next Stamp blog. We were challenged to create a project around the theme "mash up". A mash up is just a fun way of saying use multiple sets. So, I used multiple sets. I have certainly been known to use multiple sets on my cards, but I really am cognizant of what I'm using. I want to be inspiring with my projects, not causing you to purchase ALL of the sets in the world. Although... I wish I had all the stamps. If I ever have ALL of the sets, that would mean that I have a warehouse somewhere and I can truly say, I'm living the dream.
Don't forget to visit the Your Next Stamp blog to check out what everyone else has come up with under the "mash up" theme. (CLICK HERE!) Also, comment over there for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice in the Your Next Stamp online store.
I started with a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used the Kaiser Craft Splash stencil and some Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon to ink blend some splashes onto the background of my card. I used sponge daubers to do this. After the ink was on the paper, I used Bo Bunny Sugar Glitter paste to add sparkle to my splashes. If I had to do this again. I would use Neenah 110. I made a bit of a mess with the ink blending because the Bristol paper is coated with an overlay of vellum which helps the ink slide on the paper. Only, the Distress Oxide doesn't need the extra slip. Make sure you set this aside to dry for a fair amount of time. I'm sure mine sat for at least an hour before I started to touch it.
After my piece dried I cut it down with a Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die (second from largest). I brought out some Anita's Basic Pastel Vellum Pack to make some waves. I used the blue shade in the pack and the Wave Die by YNS. I also cut the wave piece down with that same stitched rectangle die. This will sit towards the bottom of my panel.
I then stamped the dolphin image from the YNS Sea Friends stamp set for the May release. I stamped the image in Your Next Stamp Black Olive Ink on a piece of Neenah 110 lb Solar White cardstock and colored it with my Nuetral gray Copic Markers. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out.
I cut a 1 inch strip of Neenah 110 lb cardstock to do two things. I needed a way to adhere my vellum waves to my cardstock and I also needed a place to put my sentiment. So, I stamped a two tone sentiment using Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean and Versafine Onyx Black ink. To see this being done, click the link to my YouTube video that I created while making this card.
I adhered the panel using white craft foam and double sided adhesive. I popped up my image and the wave vellum piece with Scotch 3M foam tape. I finished off the project using Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins in various sizes fixed with glue dots. The panel sits upon a Simon Says Stamp Fog Cardstock card base.

Your Next Stamp DT Dare "Shades of Blue"
Hello fellow card makers.
Today I am sharing with you my card for this month's DT Dare by Your Next Stamp. We were challenged to use the NEW May release products on a project centered around the theme "shades of blue". I used the NEW Water Window die set and Beach Day die set to come up with this clean and simple card. If you want to check out what all of the other talented Design Team members came up with (CLICK HERE!) to go to the Your Next Stamp blog. While you are there, leave a comment for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice from the Your Next Stamp online store.
I started with pulling out all of my various shades of blue cardstock and mixed and matched them until I picked shades that not only went well together, but also made sense on the card. I cut the water from Papertrey Ink's Blueberry Sky cardstock. This is one of my favorite blue shades. Then I proceeded to cut the boat from Simon Says Stamp's Sea Glass cardstock. Then I added some fish using the Sea Glass cardstock and also PTI's Spring Rain, and Lawn Fawn's Blue Jay.
I wanted the sentiment to stand out, so I grabbed some PTI Enchanted Evening and stamped the "Thank You" sentiment from Your Next Stamp's Whatnot Sentiments Eleven stamp set. I stamped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Ultra Fine White Embossing powder. I used an old My Favorite Things Snowy Hills die set to cut a nice arch into the darker blue sentiment panel.
I still felt like I wanted to add more, so I used a piece of Stampin' Up! So Saffron cardstock and the sun die from the NEW Beach Day die set to add a little sunshine. I then wanted to add a little white space with the same water die, just flipped upside down.
Before I attached the water and the sky using Scrapbook.com tape runner adhesive, I used my EK Success 1 inch corner rounder punch to round the corners of those pieces as well as my Simon Says Stamp Fog card base. The rest of the images are popped up with Scotch 3M foam tape.

Just Cards Video Hop "Washi"
Hello fellow card makers.
Today is the Just Cards Video Hop. A group of us got together and created a facebook group dedicated to this hop and creating videos around card making. If you are new to my blog, welcome.
This month's theme for the blog hop is "washi". We were challenged to use washi tape on our project in some way. I don't own a great deal of washi, but what I do own, I absolutely love. I typically use it to help seal my envelopes when I send them out in the mail. I've been taping my envelopes closed for years because I hate licking them.
I used a bunch of different products on my card this month. I've got some Lawn Fawn, some Spellbinders, Neat & Tangled, and some Your Next Stamp. Below are links to all of the supplies used on this project, a link to the video itself, and a Polychromos Color Map showing all of the different pencils I used to color my images.
Thank you for stoping by my blog today.

Your Next Stamp May New Release Blog Hop Card Video
Hello fellow card makers.
It's Blog Hop time! That means the May Your Next Stamp release is now live. To see the entire release (CLICK HERE!) and visit the new products page in the store. This release is fabulous. Tons of super cute sets to get you ready for summer crafting. This blog hop starts now, May 12th at 10 pm and runs until May 15th at midnight.
Make sure you comment on each blog along the hop for a chance to WIN a $25 gift certificate to the Your Next Stamp online store. Each comment you leave increases your chance of winning. A winner will be announced on May 16th on the Your Next Stamp blog.
On top of that, Your Next Stamp is giving out a 10% off coupon code to use during the hop. The graphic below includes the code and the dates that it is available for use in the Your Next Stamp online store.
I have two projects to share with you today. The first one uses the NEW Punny Pineapples stamp set and Beach Scene Die set. I also have a YouTube video linked below showing the process of making this card. The second card uses the NEW Sea Friends stamp set and Tiny Slider die set so keep scrolling to find that project as well.
I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb cardstock. I used Distress Paints in Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, and Wilted Violet to create a splatter effect onto my background. I picked up some paint onto a heavy bodied paint brush and flicked it onto my cardstock piece. Once I had all my colors flung onto the background, I set it aside to dry. Acrylic paint is thicker than watercolor paints, so it may take a little longer to dry. I let this background set for more than an hour before I die cut it with the YNS Stitched Rectangle die I always use to cut down my card panels. I also performed this technique on a piece of dark cardstock. It looks absolutely amazing on the darker material. To see that, check out my YouTube video linked below.
I took this panel and loaded it into my Mini MISTI stamping tool. I stamped the sentiment "Tropic" from the Punny Pinneapples stamp set from this release. I stamped it in Distress Oxide Ink in Abandoned Coral to match the paint in the background. I aligned the sentiment toward the top center of the card panel. This also requires a little dry time, but not as much as the paint splattered background.
As for the "like it's hot" sub sentiment. I stamped it with VersaMark Ink onto a piece of Lawn Fawn's Black Licorice cardstock and used Hero Arts Ultra Fine White embossing powder to heat emboss it. I cut it out using Heffy Doodle Strips of Ease dies. I popped it up onto my card panel using Scotch 3M foam tape.
In the Punny Pineapples set, there is a stamp that looks like it could be any number of things. These types of stamps are my favorite because of their versatility. I am using it today as a puddle of melted popsicle. I stamped the puddle image with VersMark ink onto a small piece of Neenah 110lb cardstock and heat embossed it using Zing Powder embossing powder. I cut it out using it's coordinating die. This was adhered flat to the card panel using Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive.
I took the popsicle and popsicle handle shaped dies from the NEW Beach Scene die set and cut out three popsicles using the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow paper pack. Before adhering the tops of the popsicles to their sticks cut from Papertrey inks Classic Kraft cardstock, I stamped faces on the popsicles from and older YNS stamp set called Fab-boo-lous Halloween. I stamped the little faces with VersFine Onyx Black ink. I connected the tops of the popsicles to their sticks with Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive. I then popped them up onto the card panel using foam tape.
The entire panel was adhered to the Simon Says Stamp Fog card base using black craft foam and double sided adhesive. I added Nuvo Crystal drops to the whites of the eyes on the images. I also added two lines of shimmer on each popsicle using the Gelly Roll Stardust Shimmer pen. This little pen really packs a punch and for small detail work, I wouldn't use anything else.
Here is a list of supples used for my first project. I am creating this blog post prior to the release going live in the shop. To find the NEW Your Next Stamp products (CLICK HERE!) to visit the new products page in the store. Scroll down to continue reading.
My next project uses the NEW Sea Friends stamp set and Tiny Sliders die set. The images in this set are so adorable. Having just visited the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, IL. I was inspired to create a slider card using the seals from this set.
I started with a piece of shimmer cardstock from DCWV. (I'm really sorry, but I couldn't find it anywhere to link below) It is a very pretty sea green color. I cut it down using the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle die set. I then used the My Favorite Things Cascading Scalloped Stencil to emboss the scalloped background in my Sizzix Big Shot.
Once my panel was created I used the complete circle from the NEW Tiny Sliders die set to cut out a track for my seals to swim in. I cut a second piece of the same DCWV paper for a base layer. I used double foam tape to pop up the panel and the center piece to create a thick track for my seals. Within the track, there are My Favorite Things Slider elements pieces for my seals to be adhered to. This allows them to move in the track without falling out.

I also stamped the image of water splashing and colored them with Copic markers as well. The seals were adhered to the slider pieces using glue dots.
The sentiment was stamped with VersMark ink onto a piece of heat resistant acetate. I used a combination of Hero Arts Ultra Fine White embossing powder and Zing Copper embossing powder to reveal the sentiment. I used small amounts of Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive behind the letters of the sentiment to adhere it to the center of the card panel. the seals can move freely around the sentiment.
I used more liquid adhesive to stick on my splashing water. I also used Nuvo Crystal drops in Ebony Black to enhance the black of their eyes. I also added a little Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the splashes of water. The card panel sits on a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base using double sided tape to affix it.
I want to thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you will continue to hop along with the rest of the design team today and check out all of their stunning projects. Your Next Stamp May Preview Day
Hello fellow card makers.
Today is PREVIEW day over at Your Next Stamp. The May release is just hours away. I am sharing my project using the NEW Freeze stamp set. This set is completely adorable. It comes with a male and female police officer and a cop car image. I think it's the perfect tribute to police and security officers everywhere. To see the rest of the release, tune in tonight at 10 pm EST for the Your Next Stamp May Blog Hop. The entire release will be available at that time and you will see tons of inspiration from the design team and guests. (CLICK HERE!) to visit the Your Next Stamp Blog.
For my project, I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock. I embossed the cardstock with the My Favorite Things Brick Wall stencil using my Sizzix Big Shot. I then cut that panel down with the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle die (second from largest). I used white craft foam and double sided tape to pop that panel up onto a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base.
To create the shield piece I cut a badge shape using my Brother Scan N Cut out of Stampin' Up!'s Night of Navy Cardstock. I used an SVG file that I purchased from and Etsy seller. (CLICK HERE!) to purchase the file. It comes with several cute badge cut files. Of course I enhanced mine. I used the My Favorite Things Radiating Rays stencil and Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink to add the rays of light behind out heroic police officer image. I popped up the shield with Scotch 3M foam tape.
I stamped my image from the NEW Freeze stamp set by Your Next Stamp with YNS Black Olive ink and colored him with my Copic Markers. I have a Copic Color map that lists each marker used to pin for your convenience. I cut him out with the Freeze Coordinating dies.
The sentiment is also from the Freeze stamp set. I combined two of the available sentiments so that it read "sound the sirens... it's time to party". I find this hilarious. In fact, I giggled the entire time I was making it. Ask Tim. I stamped the sentiment combination with Versamark ink on Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Cardstock. I used Hero Arts Ultra Fine White embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment. I used Heffy Doodle's Strips of Ease dies to cut it out.
I popped both the sentiment and the image up using foam tape towards the center of the inked shield. I love how this card turned out. I wish you could see the brick wall design in the background a bit more in the photos, but thats my inability to capture the card in its true form. I think it looks great in person and it makes me giggle. To finish off the project, I added some sparkle on his uniform where I colored metal. His badge, his cap, his name tag and belt with Gelly Roll Stardust pen. Man, that pen really adds a lot of shimmer. I am more than happy with that purchase.
I hope that you will join us tonight at 10 pm EST for the Your Next Stamp May Blog Hop. Until then check out what the rest of the Design Team is previewing.
Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Your Next Stamp Challenge 89
Hello fellow card makers and crafters.
Today starts Your Next Stamp Challenge 89. Your Next Stamp hosts a sketch/color combination challenge biweekly on the Your Next Stamp Blog. I would love for you to come and play along with us, to visit (CLICK HERE!). You can use the sketch or the color combo or both as the inspiration for your project. For my card, I used the Stitching Holes die to emulate the design for the sketch. I did not use the color combo, I went with rainbow instead. Here is a look at the sketch and color combo for this week's challenge.
I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb. Solar White cardstock. I used the Stitching Holes die to cut across my card panel with three rows in two clusters. I then cut down the entire panel using the Stitched Rectangle Die (second from largest).
I used DMC 6 strand embroidery floss to do a straight stitch across my card panel. I have created a DMC Floss color map below with the numbers of each color just in case you are interested. I tied knots at the end of each strand and trimmed the loose ends with my tiny embroiders scissors. I also applied white craft foam to the back side of this panel with double sided adhesive which ensures that my stitching will not be coming undone.
Before placing my stitched panel to my card base, I stamped the sentiment from Your Next Stamp What Not Sentiments 11 with Versamark Onyx Black Ink. I then applied my panel to a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base which is almost always A2 sized top folding.

Lawn Fawn and Sizzix Father's Day Gift Bag
Hello fellow card makers and well, crafters.
Today, I am making another gift bag out of the Sizzix Bigz Apron Gift Bag Die. This is my second project using this die. Last time, I made a gift bag for the gardening Mama this Mother's Day. I wanted to show how diversified this die could be. I want to get the most use out of this die as I can, and as long as the ideas keep flowing, I'm going to keep creating them. I am also using some Lawn Fawn stamps and dies to create my project today.
I started by cutting out the pieces for my gift bag, with the Sizzix Bigz Apron Die . I'm using Lawn Fawn 12 x 12 Patterned paper in the pattern Georgia. I also used Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock for the front of my bag and for the back I used Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud. To get a better idea of how I created this project, I have linked my YouTube video below.
I stamped some of the images from Lawn Fawns Let's BBQ stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored them with my Copic Markers. For a listing of the exact Copic Marker color combos I used to color these images, I've created a Copic Color map with each marker listed. I will leave it below for you to Pin to Pinterest if so desired. That's how I reference certain color combos that I want to use or try.
I also stamped the "Happy" sentiment directly onto the pocket portion of the gift bag. I stamped it in Versamark Ink and heat embossed the sentiment with Zing Charcoal embossing powder. The sub sentiment "Father's Day" was stamped in Versamark as well, but this time I used Hero Arts Ultra Fine White embossing powder and the sentiment was stamped on Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud cardstock.
I used the coordinating dies for this stamp set to cut out my images. Before placing them onto the front of my bag. I brought out my Stampin' Up! Score Board and scored lines onto the front of the bag every .5 inches. I think it looks like it could be shiplap or even siding, at least thats what it looks like to me. After scoring my project I began to put all the pieces together.
I reinforced the score made by the die onto my pocket piece and added 1/4 inch double sided adhesive onto the areas that will allow me to adhere the pocket to the front of my gift bag. After peeling off the adhesive backing of my tape, I lined up my pocket on my apron and applied pressure with my fingertips to stick it down. Then I took Scotch 3M foam tape and used it to pop up my grill and the matching tools on the either side of it. I also used foam tape to pop up my sub sentiment.
The fire was stuck on with glue dots and the lone skewer was added to the project last with foam tape to give even more dimension. I fell like the soft red gingham reminds me of and old picnic table cloth. After the front was created, I began to put all of the apron pieces together.
I used 1/4 inch double sided tape on all of the sides of the gift bag and added ribbon by Stampin' Up! to give it handles. I looked it up and Stampin' Up! no longer sells this particular ribbon. That doesn't surprise me, I think I've had this ribbon for a while. I really like how the bag turned out. I think it's fun but also masculine.

Heffy Doodle Sticky Friends Card Video
Hello fellow card makers.
I have another Heffy Doodle video to share with you all today. This is the one, where I make fun of my husbands bald head. In this video I use the Sticky Friends giveaway stamp set by Heffy Doodle to create a card good enough to send to any crafty friend.
I started with a piece of Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock. I used my Fiskars Stamp Press to do some repeated stamping. I stamped the glue bottle from the Sticky Friends stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I was trying to create a more chaotic background and avoided stamping a pattern. I then cut down the panel with the second to largest Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die.
I colored my images with Faber Castell Goldfaber Colored Pencils. I used a blending stump, bare with no blending medium, to blend my colored pencil coloring. You can click the video linked below to see how I did that and how I store my colored pencils.
I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of Neenah 110 lb cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I cut it out using a basic shape preloaded onto my Brother Scan N Cut. To me, it looks like a tear drop or speech bubble. It caught my eye, so that is what I used. The sub sentiment was stamped onto Lawn Fawn Black Licorice cardstock and white heat embossed with Hero Arts Ultra Fine White embossing powder. I used the Heffy Doodle Strips of Ease dies to cut it out.
I popped up the front panel with black craft foam and some double sided adhesive. I used Scotch 3M foam tape to pop up my sentiments. I added a few Satin Rainbow sequins from Studio Katia and I highlighted the labels on my glue bottles with Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust Clear pen. The card base is Neenah 110 lb cardstock.
