Hello fellow card makers.
Today is the beginning of a new challenge for Your Next Stamp. It's challenge #90 and it's a biweekly sketch and/or color combination challenge. Every two weeks, Your Next Stamp posts a sketch or color combination to inspire you to play along with the challenge. Create a project inspired by one of those two things and upload it to the Your Next Stamp blog. Here is a look at this week's sketch and color combo. For my project, I rotated the sketch one turn to the right and used the NEW Punny Pineapples stamp set and coordinating dies.
I started with a piece of patterned paper by Bo Bunny. I'm not sure this paper pad is still available. It's called Head Over Heels and it's made by Bo Bunny. If I can find it, I will link it below. It has a two- toned triangle pattern in black, and I absolutely love it. I used it to act as the purple strip in the sketch for the challenge. I cut that piece down with the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle die (second from largest). I also had a piece of Neenah 110 lb Solar White Cardstock and cut it down with the same die. I trimmed one inch from the left Side of the piece of Neenah to reveal the triangle pattern paper.
I took the "you're one Fine-apple" sentiment from the Punny Pineapples by Your Next Stamp and stamped it first with Versamark ink and only on the word fine. I masked the rest of the sentiment using Term-o-web's Purple Tape. After I stamped just the word fine, I used Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder to heat emboss it. After the heat embossing had cooled. I used Versafine Onyx Black Ink to stamp the rest of the sentiment, being sure to mask the word FINE with tape.
The pineapple image is from YNS Punny Pineapples and I stamped it onto another piece of Neenah 110 lb cardstock and heat embossed it using the same Hero Arts Gold embossing powder. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out.
As for the sunglasses. I used the die from the Punny Pineapples coordinating dies to cut it out. I cut it from Tonic Studios Black Sapphire Glitter Cardstock.
Before I did anything else. I used my Stampin' Up! score board to score 1/2 inch score lines on the white Neenah panel that I had cut down in the beginning. I made straight score lines every 1/2 inch across the front of the panel. I adhered this panel to a piece of black craft foam cut to slightly smaller that the entire panel. I used double sided tape to adhere these together and then to my card base which is a Simon Says Stamp Fog card base.
I popped up the pineapple slightly above the sentiment with Scotch 3M foam tape. I then adhered the glasses using the same foam tape.
Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you will consider playing along with us over at the Your Next Stamp Blog. (CLICK HERE!) to have a look and possibly be inspired by all of the awesome card makers either on the Design Team or the ones playing along in the challenge.
