For my project today, I happen to have some pre-embossed panels that I had in my stash but you could use virtually any background by heat embossing your own. I cut my panel to 3 1/2 by 4 3/4 and popped it up onto a neutral gray card base cut to size A2 and scored in a top folding portrait orientation. I used craft foam cut slightly smaller than the panel itself and tear tape adhesive to attached it.

I used another embossed panel and my Distress Crayons to watercolor a very simple, two color combination and bring out the white vines of the embossed pattern.

I then used my Altenew Bold Alphabet dies to cut the word "joy" for the front of the card. I cut the letters from both the watercolor piece and also from three additional plain white cardstock pieces. I layered them all together using Nuvo Deluxe liquid adhesive and then placed them on the card panel justifying to the upper center.

The sub sentiment was stamped using sticky embossing ink and heat embossed using Ranger White embossing powder onto a piece of Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Cardstock. I used my Fiskars wire guide paper trimmer to cut it into a small sentiment strip and attached it to the panel using Ranger Letter It Clear Foam Adhesive.

Altenew Paper Pieced Ori Kami Elephant for The Color Throwdown #433 with Video

Hello fellow card makers. Today I am sharing the card I made for The Color Throwdown #433. I used Altenew Ori Kami stamp set. I paper pieced the elephant from the set using a layering technique to make it look like it was actually folded with a piece of paper. It adds dimension and interest to a clean and simple card. This technique is for people that love to fussy cut, because there is a lot of fussy cutting with this card. It took me a while to get through it, but it was worth it. I really like how it turned out. Below are some photos of my project, a link to my video on YouTube, and a complete list of supplies. Also, I have a map of the elephant and how many layers make up each part of the elephant.  I also now know that I do not own a "cornflower blue" - Muahahaha! I must SHOP!

Mid Century Thanks

Hello fellow card makers. Today I am sharing another card and yes, another video. I'm still learning, but I am enjoying myself and to me, thats all that matters. My card has a mid century feel to it. I used some pattern papers I have been hoarding for a few years. this pack of 6x6 patterned paper is by Basic Grey and it's called Hipster. I used the colors from these papers to pick my ink colors for the stamping. I love stamping. I mean, stamping with no coloring, I need to do more of this. I am using Simple Flowers by Altenew. Hello fellow cardmakers. Today I am sharing a project I created using Altenew stamps. I have been trying my hand at no line Copic coloring and this was one of my first attempts. I stamped the flower images using Altenew's Hennah Elements stamp set on PTI Stampers Select White with Memento Desert Sand ink. I picked markers that I thought would blend well together and just tried my best. I wanted to keep the shape of the stamp by using the darker colors first around the outline of the image and blend them out with the lighter colors. I don't think it turned out too bad considering I haven't tried this technique much.

I used Hero Arts Black dye ink to stamp the "thanks" from halftone thanks. Then I used Versamark to stamp the rest of the sentiment from the same set on SSS Black cardstock and embossed it with Hero Arts White embossing powder. I popped up the second part of the sentiment with some foam tape. I adhered my card front flat onto a Stampin' Up! Sahara Sand A2 size card base. The additional elements on the card are also stamped in Hero Arts Black. A complete list of supplies are below.
