Avery Elle Life's A Beach Card Video

Hello fellow card makers.

Today I am sharing with you a project that I made using some Avery Elle products. I recently ordered the Avery Elle Beside the Sea stamp set and I could not wait to make this card. I had it all planned out in my head. You know when you have the best idea and you just have to create it, that was this card for me. I wanted to make this sand more than life! lol.

First I started with my background. I masked of the bottom portion of my card front and inked on some VersaMagic Wheat chalk ink. While it was still masked, I loaded up my Ranger marker spritzer with Antique Linen Distress ink marker and Frayed Burlap marker and spritzed some sand on top of the inked area to create sand. It looks so cool! I waited a bit to let that part dry before I masked off the sky portion of my background. I used the MFT mini cloud stencil to ink blend some clouds with VersaMagic Aegean Blue chalk ink. After my background was dry, I cut it down with a Mama Elephant Femme Frames stitched rectangle die. I stamped my sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I stamped my images with Momento Tuxedo Black ink because I want to color with my Copics. I used a rainbow of colors to add life to my cabana and kite images. Below you will see a color map listing all of the Copic colors used on this project. Once they were cut out, I popped them up with some foam tape onto my background. To finish it off, I mounted the panel onto some craft foam adhered with 1/2" Scor tape and placed it on a Neenah 100 lb. card base.

Images of my project, a Copic color map, a link to my YouTube video making this card, and links to the supplies I used are below.

Guest Star Stamper for The Color Throwdown #427

Hello fellow card makers. I am so excited because today I am the guest star stamper over at The Color Throwdown #427. The color palette for this weeks challenge are mint green, pink, and aqua. Click here to get to there most recent challenge. Here is a look at the color palette and inspirational photo.

I love these colors. They really are some of my favorites, but I found it hard to create with them this week. I'm not sure why. Somehow, I managed to come up with this...

This is my take on this weeks challenge. I love the look of dipped feathers, it is just so beautiful to me. So, awhile ago I bought this stamp set from Stampin' Up! and its coordinating dies. I die cut my feathers out of some aqua cardstock. I them stamped them with detail images in Versamark just to give it a slight detail. To create the dipped look, I used a foiling technique. I used a toner marker to draw where I wanted my foil to adhere. I found that the toner marker was kinda hard to work with. This was my first try at foiling and I'm going to keep trying other methods. I found this method not only to be messy and inconsistent, but I wasn't real happy with the way it turned out. I used my laminating machine to heat up the foil. Maybe it was a combination of toner coverage and not enough heat on the project. I will keep trying because I love the look of foil and I want to be able to use it on future projects.

Once I had my feathers "dipped" I then wrapped some mint colored embroidery floss around the quill of the feather as if it actually where dipped into paint or dye. I knotted them together to hang them on my card, to create the focal image. I molded them to appear more like they where free hanging and 3 dimensional.

The front panel was created from a light pink cardstock. I blended some Distress ink, in Worn Lipstick, around the edges to create the vignette around the feathers. I adhered the front panel directly to a gray top folding card base. After adding some sequins and a sentiment that seemed more than fitting, my card was done. A complete list of supplies is below.

Color Throwdown # 379

Hello fellow cardmakers, today is very exciting... not just because I'm playing in this week's Color Throwdown, but also because I made my very first card making video today. It's something that I've wanted to do for a long time, but never conjured up the courage to do it. Oh yeah, and Happy Valentines Day! As I mentioned in the video, I have been obsessed with rainbows lately, and as such, I have pretty much colored rainbows on every card I've made in the past few weeks, so why not this one too? I made two cards with the same layout but using different techniques for the rainbow die cut. The first using fun foam and the second using an inlaid die technique, which I showed in the video.

Today I am playing in Color Throwdown #379. This weeks colors are Pink, Purple/Mullberry, Metallic Gold, and Hot Pink. My supplies are listed below.

Constructive criticism number one, better lighting. Oh and I need to turn off my TV when filming, hahaha!!  Enjoy!

Simon Says Monday Challenge: Stencil It

Hello fellow cardmakers, today I am playing along with the Simon Says Monday Challenge: Stencil It.

I created the card pictured above using the MFT Sun Ray Stencil and Distress inks. This background was created using 110 lb. Neenah Solar White cardstock. I used a masking technique to create the background and finished it up using water droplets. The background was adhered to a Stampin' Up! Basic Gray card base using foam tape.

Background before cutting it down and adding it to my card base.

I stamped the boat image using Avery Elle's Knotty stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Copic markers. I adhered the boat with foam tape. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Many Mini Messages and it was stamped on Stampin' Up! Basic Gray cardstock in VersaMark Ink, and I used Hero Arts White embossing powder to heat emboss it. I then used the little flag from MFT Blueprints 1 dienamics to cut out the sentiment. I attached the flag using glossy accents.

Thats my project for this challenge, thanks for clicking on my card. I have listed many of the supplies I used below. I hope you come back soon.
